Body

Retrieving the embed code for a single video

  1. Sign into Canvas. In the Canvas global navigation menu along the left side of the screen, select Account > My Media
    • If you do not wish to access My Media through Canvas, you can alternatively navigate to https://mediaspace.wisconsin.edu/ and select Guest > Login and sign in to your UWGB account. After signing in, select your name and then select "My Media" to navigate to your media library.
  2. In your My Media library, select the name of the media item you would like to share.
  3. Select the Share tab underneath the video player.
  4. Select the Embed tab (in Canvas, this may be the only tab and already selected).
  5. Choose the Player skin (Basic, Download, Share & Embed, etc.) you wish to use.
  6. Copy the text in the embed code box by clicking in the box (to select all) and then pressing CTRL + C to copy (Command + C on a Mac).
    • You may alternatively right-click in the text box and select “Copy” in the context menu.
  7. Return to the location you would like to embed your media and use the appropriate HTML editor to paste in the embed code.

Canvas Considerations

If you want to embed a My Media video in a Canvas course page, it is often easier and recommended to use the My Media tool in the Rich Content Editor. Please see: Kaltura - Inserting a Video in Canvas with the Rich Content Editor
