Kentico - Using Custom Templates

This document details how to create pages using custom templates in the Kentico application. We don't expect you to build a page from scratch, so that's why we have custom templates to choose from. You can either choose a custom template when you create a new page, or you can use the Change Template icon floating on the bottom left of your screen to switch templates after your page has been created. Be aware that when you change to a new template, you’ll lose any content and layout that you had on the page.

Switch a Page's Template

If you have already created a page, but need to switch the template, you can select a new template for your page. Note that changing the template will cause all page content to be deleted (i.e. widgets and sections with their data and properties, will be lost.)

  • Begin by opening the page for which would like to switch the template.
  • Click the orange template icon Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
floating on the lower left corner of the page. Click either the default template or custom template you’d like to switch to.
  • Click Apply.
  • Click OK to confirm.

Don't see the icon? If there’s a cookies banner covering up the Change Template icon, save your work, close pages, and go to the live site, and click to accept the cookies notice. It should be gone the next time you return to the pages application.
