Kentico - Adding a RSS Feed to a Page
Summary
This document details how to set up a RSS Feed on your Kentico page. An RSS feed is an easy way to keep running a list of the most current news posts or events.
Body
Insert the RSS Feed widget onto the page.
Hover over the RSS Feed widget and select the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the block.
Select the widget properties:
Column Layout - creates a column to the left of the feed in the proportions you select. Selected by default is 0/100 which is a single column. Any other column layout option will create another content column to the left in the proportions you decide.
Feed URL - place the feed URL. This varies by the system you're pulling the feed from. If it’s from a wordpress blog, you can add /feed/ to the end of the blog, category, or tag url (eg.
https://blog.uwgb.edu/hr/feed/)
. See the list of
Campus Calendar
feeds.
Feed Type - If it's a feed from news.uwgb.edu, select "News." If not, select "Other."
Number of Items – enter the number of feed items you want to appear on the page.
Description – enable this to display the description of the feed item.
Published Date - enable this to display the published date of the feed item.
View More Link – enter the URL of the site, or area of the site, that the feed is pulled from (this is a regular URL, not a feed URL).
Reverse Layout – enabling this flips the columns so that the feed is in the left column and the content is in the right column.
Click Apply.
Edit the textual content in the widget using the rich content editor.
Click Save.
