Both Windows 10 and Windows 7 Domain Group policy will block the installation of the Canon DR-3010C driver. This scanner is located in Counseling and Health.
To successfully install the driver, follow the steps below
1. Create a local account with administrator privileges.
2. Copy the Canon driver folder DR3010c from \\app-2\osd$\Drivers\x64\Win10 to c:\
3. Remove the computer from the Domain and reboot.
4. Remove the Domain Group Policies by opening Regedit
- Backup the registry by R. Click on on computer and select export. Make note of where the file is saved.
- Navigate to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft. Delete the Microsoft folder (which will delete all subkeys also)
- Navigate to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft. Delete the Microsoft folder (which deletes all subkeys also)
- Navigate to HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy Objects. Delete both subfolders.
- Reboot and login with local account
5. Run the setup.exe located in c:\DR3010c\ISIS-TWAIN\Version 1.7 SP2\ directory as administrator.
6. Run the setup.exe located in the :\DR3010c\COT folder as administrator
7. Test the scanner using the CaptureOnTouch Canon program.
8. Join computer to domain and run gpupdate.
9. Retest scanner.
