Body

We approved Macports for some users, but they do not have the admin rights to actually use it.  Below is a list of approved commands that can be run by IT for users who have Macports approved.  All commands need to be run in Terminal.  Please close Terminal when session is done so as to not leave sudo permissions active.

To install Macports, it's available in Self Service, but one of the Mac Admins needs to scope the computer if it's been replaced.

Update all Macports installed apps:
sudo port upgrade outdated

Install xfig:
sudo port install xfig

Install gv (ghostview):
sudo port install gv

Install ghostscript:
sudo port install ghostscript

Install aspell:
sudo port install aspell

Install aspell English dictionary:
sudo port install aspell-dict-en
