How to Request Service

This article explains how to request services/submit a ticket using the GBIT Self-Service Portal, including searching for services, using the General Inquiry form, submitting requests, and providing feedback.

Requesting Service

Requesting service is easy. Head to the GBIT Home Page (www.uwgb.edu/servicedesk) or go directly to the services page (www.uwgb.edu/itservices).

Finding a Service

Once on the services page, you have a few ways to find a service:

  1. If you know the category of your service (e.g., Accounts and Security), you can click directly into the category and find your service.
  2. Use the search at the top right of the page ("Search the client portal"). This feature searches the entire GBIT Self-Service Portal (Services and KBs).
  3. Select the "Services A-Z" button to view all the services that GBIT offers.

NOTE: Signing in to the portal will provide access to additional services that are available only to signed-in users.

Using the General Inquiry Form

Can't find anything that matches your request? Fill out the General Inquiry/Other IT Help service here.

This form is to be used only when there are no services that match your request. Please sign in and search the portal and/or check out our "Services A-Z" before filling out this form.

Submitting a Request

  1. Find a service that you'd like to request.

  1. After selecting your form, click the "Request Service" button in the top right. Note that the button text may be different based on the service.

  1. Fill out the from and answer all applicable questions. Many services have dynamic forms that ask certain questions based on the service requested. This helps us assist you more efficiently.

  1. Click "Submit" to submit your request to the GBIT Service Desk.

  1. After submitting, you will see a follow up screen with actions. You can create another request, view the request you just made, or view all of your ticket requests. Feel free to close this page.
