Map Network Share on Windows

Mapping Network Share

1. Open File Explorer.

2. In File Explorer:

        1. Select "This PC" on the left side task bar.

        2. Select "Computer" at the top of the window.

3. In the following screen:

        1. Enter the desired file path. For example: \\fpsa\compserv$\

        2. Assign the desired letter.

4. After filing in the folder and drive:

        1. Select "Reconnect at logon."

        2. Select "Finish."

        1. Select "Reconnect at logon."

        2. Select "Finish."

5. After this the drive will appear in your list of mapped drives.


Error Message

If you receive this error message, the file path is incorrect or you do not have access to the share:

Mapping Home Directories

If you are mapping your home directory (M drive), use the following paths: 

Staff: \\fpsa\u\username

***NOTE: The singular "u" is the first letter of your last name.***

Student workers: \\fpsa\studentworkers$\username

Students: \\fpsb\u\username

***NOTE: The singular "u" is the first letter of your last name.***
