About AutoDesk Licensing
New Licensing Model
AutoDesk has moved away from serial numbers and now requires users to log in with an AutoDesk account to access software like AutoCAD. At UW-Green Bay, these accounts are tied to your campus credentials and access is granted based on your assigned products. Unfortunately, new users will not have any AutoDesk products assigned automatically. New users will need to request access to specific AutoDesk products (see Requesting Access).
Steps to Sign In to AutoDesk Apps
-
Open the App
- Launch an AutoDesk product, such as AutoCAD, from the Start Menu.

-
Sign In with Your UWGB Account
- After launching, a browser window will open. Enter your full campus email address (e.g., smithjd01@uwgb.edu) and click Next.

- Follow the prompts to complete sign-in through UWGB Single Sign-On (SSO). You’ll be redirected to a confirmation page. Click Go to Product to continue.

- If prompted, check the box for "Always allow accounts.autodesk.com to open links of this type", then click Open to return to the app.

Requesting Access
For Students and Faculty
If you are a student or faculty member and need access to AutoDesk software for coursework instruction, please submit a general IT ticket. Please include which AutoDesk products you are requesting access to. If requesting access for a class, please include the class distribution list(s) or a list of student emails.
You can submit a General IT Ticket through our service portal.
