      1. Go to any Canvas Page, Assignment, Discussion, etc, which allows you to edit content with the Rich Content Editor.

      2. Select the Edit button to begin editing the content (or, in a Discussion, select Reply to begin editing a reply)

      3. In the Rich Content Editor toolbar, select the My Media button (rainbow pinwheel icon). Alternatively, you may select Tools > Apps > View All > My Media in the menu bar.

    • Name (Required) - Enter a name that will help you find and identify your video while searching your My Media library.
    • Description (Optional) - Add information about your video. The description is shown when sharing your video via link but not shown when embedded in Canvas.
    • Tags (Optional) - Adding tags can help you organize and search for videos within your My Media library.
    • Co-Editors and Co-Publishers (Optional) - You can add collaborators to allow other users to edit your video or embed it in their courses.
    • Publishing Status (if shown) - We recommend leaving this setting on "Private". Kaltura will manage it automatically whenever you share or embed your video.

  6. Wait for your video upload to complete and then select the Save button, or, if uploading from the RCE, select the Save and Embed button.

Your video is now saved to your Kaltura My Media library in Canvas and ready to embed! The video will need to finish processing on the Kaltura server before it can be played. Depending on the size of your video, this may take several minutes.

Please see Kaltura - Inserting a Video in Canvas with the Rich Content Editor for instructions on embedding your video in Canvas. You can also copy an iframe embed code to embed your video in another website or copy your video's share link to share it via link.
