Installing and Setting Up Webex

- Search for Webex using Spotlight Search (Cmd + Space). If it’s not found, visit Self Service to install the application.

- Use the Spotlight Search function to find "Self Service". In Self Service, type "Webex" in the search bar. Click the Webex application and press "Install". If you see "Uninstall," the program is already installed.

- Launch Webex (search "Webex" in Spotlight Search or find it in Launchpad). If you do not see the application, ensure you have downloaded the program from Self Service. The Webex application may run in the background after launching. To check, look for the application in the top menu bar. Click on the Webex button to open.

- On the Webex application, click the "Sign in" button. Next, type in your full UWGB email address. You'll then be redirected to the UWGB Okta SSO login page. Log in as normal.

- After logging in, you may need to accept the license agreement. Click "Accept"

- You will be directed to the Webex home screen. On the bottom of your screen, you may notice it says "You're not signed into phone services. Open Settings". Logging into Webex does not also log you into Webex Phone Services. Click the blue "Open Settings" button to continue.

- You will be directed to the Phone Services section of Webex. It may show an error before you login. Ignore the initial warning and enter in your UWGB username and your UWGB password.

- Signing Into Phone Services
- If you are not currently signed into Jabber, you will then be logged into phone services. You may be required to allow Webex to access features on your device. Approve these prompts.

- If you are signed into Jabber, you’ll get a "Your phone is in use" error.

- Click "Sign in" again to disconnect Jabber and connect Webex. You may be required to allow Webex to access features on your device. Approve these prompts.

- Close the menu to continue. You will be redirected to the Webex Home Screen and the error message will disappear. You are now ready to use Webex.

Important: To allow Jabber to be removed from your computer automatically, you must completely sign out of Jabber. Follow the instructions below to proceed. If you are not signed into the Jabber application, you make skip this step.
Signing Out of Jabber
- Launch the Jabber application by using Spotlight Search or Launchpad. Similar to Webex, this program may launch in the background. To check, look for the application in the top menu bar. Click on the Jabber button to open. If you are unable to locate Jabber, you may not have the application installed and can skip this portion.


- On the Jabber home screen, click on the "My profile and settings" (your profile picture or initials) button.

- From here, click "Sign Out". You'll be redirected to the Jabber login screen.

- To finalize the process, click "Reset Jabber". This will prompt a warning. Note: Resetting Jabber will clear all user information from the application. Click "Reset" to proceed.

- Close Jabber. You are now ready to use Webex.
