Laptop Checkout for Faculty & Staff

Laptop Checkout Policy

UWGB has a limited supply of staff loaner computers available to support overall University operations. Examples of supported functions would be Orientation, Graduation, International Travel, or Coffee Breaks. Loaner laptops are not meant to provide portability to an employee who currently has a desktop computer. To start the process of reserving a laptop, please contact GBIT with your name, email, dates the laptop is needed for, and the reason. We will reach back out soon to confirm.

The check out laptops come with core campus software installed on them. In addition, individuals may install other licensed applications while they are using the machines. When they are returned, University staff re-images the machines with the base configuration, so it is important that all data be saved off the computer.

Users must first sign into the laptop on campus so that the VPN will work off campus. Navigate the the following KB for more information: VPN - User Guide.

Loaner Checkout Policy

A loaner will be given out for one of the reasons below:

  • A department is conducting university business and will have multiple users, maybe non UW Green Bay users, using the laptops. An example is during GB Orientation or during an event that requires attendees to check in.
  • If a faculty member or staff member forgets their laptop at home (must turn in the loaner by end of day).
