Canvas (Known Issue) - Incomplete Course Codes

Description of Issue

The Canvas-SIS integration creates some Canvas courses with incomplete course codes. The course code that appears at the top of the page while in the course shows the section number, but the subject code and catalog number are missing.

Workaround

Instructors who notice this issue in their course can follow these steps to manually update the course code:

  1. In the Canvas course, select Settings at the bottom of the course navigation menu.
     
  2. Under "Course Details," type the correct course code in the Course Code field. For example: BUSAN 220-0800

  3. Select the Update Course Details button at the bottom of the settings page to save the change.

After making this change, the corrected course code appears at the top of the page while in the Canvas course.
