Assistance with Connecting to a Printer

Description of Service:

The GBIT Service Desk provides support for university staff who need assistance connecting to a printer. We support both Windows and Mac devices.

Required Information:

  • Printer Name
  • GB# (University ID)
  • Job Code (for Ricoh printers)

Request Guidelines:

  • If you do not know your Job Code for a Ricoh printer, please speak with your supervisor before submitting a request.
  • Ensure that you have your device ready and accessible for remote assistance.

Procedure:

  1. Submit a request with the following details:
    • Your GB# (University ID)
    • Printer Name
    • Job Code (if using a Ricoh printer)
  2. After submitting the request, a GBIT technician will coordinate a time to assist you.
  3. During the scheduled time, the technician will call you and remote into your device to map the printer.
  4. Alternatively, you can call the GBIT Service Desk directly for immediate assistance.
